Android Tablet PC in Business

It has been said that 2011 is the year of the Tablet PC, and many analysts are predicting that by 2015, 30% of the population will own a Tablet PC. There has been a lot of discussion about the fun usages of a Tablet PC, but what about using a Tablet PC for business? Is it practical? Do applications exist to make it even feasible?
Tablets are predominantly being used for email, internet and multimedia currently, but we are also seeing the business sector look towards tablets for their solutions as well. Deloitte research firm did another report where they predict that 25% of all tablet sales will be by businesses for business activity.
Some IT executives may consider tablets a drain on productivity. Understanding productivity in the enterprise is extremely important for Android devices.IT managers want to be able to control every aspect of a tablet before they put it in the hands of their employees.

Entrepreneurship within a company

We have our own Intrapreneurship program called “One Box” which encourages employees constantly to “brain storm on ideas”, “problem solving” and “employees get benefitted financially if an idea is implemented”.
Now what is Intrapreneurship?
“Intrapreneurship is the practice of entrepreneurship by employees within an organization”.
The Difference
An entrepreneur takes substantial risk in being the owner and operator of a business with expectations of financial profit and other rewards that the business may generate. On the contrary, an intrapreneur is an individual employed by an organization for remuneration.
Intrapreneurs share the same traits as entrepreneurs such as conviction, zeal and insight. As the intrapreneur continues to expresses his ideas vigorously, it will reveal the gap between the philosophy of the organization and the employee. If the organization supports him in pursuing his ideas, he succeeds. If not, he is likely to leave the organization and set up his own business.
How to Encourage Intrapreneurship ?
# Make sure people are not afraid to fail. This fear will kill any and all possible innovation.
# Create an in-house team to track the competition.
# Continually ask people what products or services your company could be providing that would be helpful.
# Have people from different departments work with one another to come up with new products and ideas.
# Collect consumer opinion on products that are already on the market.
# Create at least one collaborative venture with another company.
# Ask your employees to openly discuss what they think about your company and where improvements can be made.
# Have each of your managers come up with monthly ideas that will add value to your company.
# Allow people to have some time to have fun !!
# Train employees to help them learn more about creative thinking.
Finally, Intrapreneurship is good for a company’s Team health and growth.

Some dreaded interview Q(s) and Some interview tip(s)

“Where would you like me to start?”
Is this a Q asked by Interviewer or Both ? Answer should be “The Interviewer”.
Where would you start from? from Present? or from Past?
If the interviewer asks this Q, Then always start from previous work experiences and tell them why you’ve chosen the career you’re in.
And DO NOT ask “What do you want to know?”.
Now comes the ALL important Q : “Tell me about yourself”
  • Always include details about “Who you are”.
  • Tell them about “things that you’re passionate about”.
  • Areas of interest and focus.
  • Some points about “past positive work experiences”.
  • Tell them “what you can offer to the company”.
  • Important, don’t take more than 5 min, otherwise the interviewer will fall asleep :-)
Tips ::
Always enter with a positive frame of mind.
You should sound confident. Try a role-play before the interview.
No NEGATIVES please. “Don’t tell them that you are divorced.”
ODD tip ::
If you know “Who is going to interview today?”, then please check his/her  FACEBOOK and other social media profiles before entering the interview.

Goal setting !

Some have success in reaching their goal, but others don’t have …
Here are some research tips for “Goal setting and achieving it

1. When you set yourself a goal, try to be as specific as possible, because it gives you a clear idea of what success looks like. Knowing exactly what you want to achieve keeps you motivated until you get there.
2. Achieving your goal mean grabbing hold of the the available opportunities before they slip through your fingers. To seize the moment, decide when and where you’ll take each action and in advance.
3. Achieving any goal also requires honest and regular monitoring of your progress by you.
4. Be optimistic, Believing in your ability to succeed is enormously helpful for creating and sustaining your motivation.
5. Mostly we focus on goals that are all about proving ourselves, rather than developing and acquiring new skills. Embracing the fact that you can change will allow you to make better choices, and reach your fullest potential.
6. “To have Grit” is a willingness to commit to long-term goals, and to persist in the face of difficulty.
7. Build willpower, How? - take on a challenge that requires you to do something you’d honestly rather not do.  Start with just one activity, and make a plan for how you will deal with troubles when they occur. you can take on more challenges and step-up your self-control workout.
8. Playing with FATE : Don’t try to take on two challenging tasks at once, if you can help it. And don’t put yourself in harm’s way.
As always : effort, planning, persistence, and good strategies are what it really takes to achieve your GOAL.

Social media and businesses

Social Media Will Change Your Business, Is this a Fact or a Myth ?
Blogs were the heart of the story in 2005. Social networks like Facebook and MySpace, video sites like YouTube, micro blogs like Twitter — all emerged in the last three years, and all have one thing in common “grown by users”, So Social media will change your business in longer run.
Here are some tips for success thru social media…
“Don’t forget to engage regularly”
Time spent on social media efforts depends on the type of business and the goals involved. Engage in social media on a daily basis and the results will come out slowly on a longer run. Remember social media will not give fruits instantly.
“Never use it ONLY for broadcasting messages”
Check in with your fans and followers by asking for feedback, responding to questions and comments to build relationships with customers. Don’t use Social media as a ONE way communication tool. Use social media as a marketing, customer relations, branding and PR tool.
“Listen more”
simply listen to what people say on Facebook, Twitter, blogs and forums, then react to it.
“Spread the word”
A FAN following can be got by getting attention over and over again and again. Once you have social connection tell the people about you and your business. Announce changes on your blog, promote your next event, present your new product.

How blog makes business sense?

What is business blog?
Business blog is a corporate tool for communicating with customers or employees to share knowledge and expertise.
Social blogging is often used to share experiences in addition to business ideas and concepts. Always seek unique opportunities to share our ideas and offerings with not only our readers, but their associates as well, which will eventually bring in more prospects.
Social blogging is a way to have conversations with potential customers and to draw traffic to our site.
Marketing experts suggest businesses update their audiences on a regular basis but only if there’s something new, informative and interesting to say.
A company can benefit from valuable feedback through comments and suggestions. Do a call for action in our posts.
A blog can serve as the central location for where we make announcements. We can create information on our blog and then promote it using other social network.
Having our employees post updates can help revolutionize how our business communicates with customers and associates.
All the above points made us to give more importance to business blogging.
From this post we’re here for a long stay.
